The Playground Theatre - running costs

The Playground Theatre started in 2009 as a creative hub for artists so that they could explore the unique voice that is in every one of us.  In 2017 we opened our doors so that we could share the new and exciting theatre and performing arts that is being created here.  Please check What's On to see our current eclectic program of shows.

With your help, we can continue to work with emerging and established world-class artists. We want to share performing arts that challenge and entertain in equal measure, and also amplify the voice of our community. We do need financial support. The Playground Theatre is funded through ticket sales, crowd funding, generous donations and the occasional local government grant.  If you would like to donate please use the button below.

Outreach projects

Well Written is a writing project created by The Playground Theatre in partnership with St Charles Hospital and the Adult Learning Within Reach (WEA) team. Delivered by playwright Stewart Permutt and The Playground Theatre Artistic Director Anthony Biggs for mental health hospital patients; it has helped to extend a therapeutic environment into theatre. The course was co-designed for and with inpatients including the design of the program poster.

Well Read is a script reading project  created by The Playground Theatre in partnership with St Charles Hospital  which involves mental health and older adult patients. It again extends a therapeutic environment into the theatre.
We would like to run more outreach projects, but need donations in order to do so.

£250.00 gets one of the following:
A school or community workshop;
A theatre 'black' curtain;
Specialist theatre microphone;
A poster for a theatre production.

Volunteer

The Playground Theatre has two full-time staff only. They are supported by a small number of dedicated people. In its first year operating as a theatre (2017) we depended heavily on the support of the local and creative community.

We still need the support of volunteers. If you would like to find out  more about volunteering please email info@theplaygroundtheatre.london

If you are interested in voluntary theatre and stage management work, please contact our theatre manager Isabella on:  isabella@theplaygroundtheatre.london
We look forward to hearing from you!
