The Playground Theatre, MY YARD and K+C Festival Presents
YARD TALES
A new devised theatre piece created by young people from Harrow’s Grange Farm Estate in partnership with The Playground’s outreach team, featuring stories and music.
YARD TALES
The show was inspired by the My Yard project which started with a photographer giving cameras to young people on the Harrow's Grange Farm Estate. They documented their lives, and it's a story about community and estate regeneration. A book was then made as a result of their work.
Many of the people in the book have now been moved out by developers, with the remaining residents set to be moved out this year.
Over a series of workshops with Playground team member Phil Correia, the young people have created a semi-interactive play, centered around a core group of young people reminiscing about their time on the Estate.
Alongside the performance there is a free photographic exhibition of the pictures that inspired the project. This exhibition, called MY YARD, has been curated by Jarelle Francis and is presented by charity My Yard in collaboration with The Playground Theatre.

Mix of good food, enthusiastic people & a purpose to create a homely, supportive and positive environment for our communities.
There are about 8 million people in the UK struggling with food poverty, i.e., difficulty in accessing and affording food. It includes communities with people in work, families with young children, old & disabled people & many more.
Our neighbourhoods, Harrow, Dalston & Bushey, are one of these thousand communities in the UK that are facing food poverty. Therefore, any excess surplus food or support from our partners & volunteers strengthens these communities in challenging food poverty and its many negative consequences that can harm an individual’s health and wellbeing.
