Signed to Resevoir/Reverb Publishing, Zoe is a solo artist AND a multi-talented songwriter, producer and performer. Her songs appear in ‘BILLIONS’ and ‘HANDMAIDS TALE’, and her No 1 hit ‘SWAG’ with ‘THE QEMISTS’ got syncs for Forza, Blur and GT Racing. Half Malaysian, half Scottish, brought up living above various London pubs as a child, Zoe cut her first record with PRINCE BUSTER at the age of 14, joined Gaz Mayalls band The Trojans, then went on to front ALABAMA 3 at 17, sang on RONNIE SCOTTS main stage in between, and is now making her solo sound the focus. Her voice is gutsy and compelling, her songwriting catchy, she knows how to hit the heart strings just right, with a good dose of bass.

With notes of Dub, Trip Hop, Jazz, Blues and Roots Reggae, Zoe's sound has already been hailed and played by DON LETTS on BBC Radio 6, with her version of “Caroline No” featuring on his Late Night Tales compilation. She is currently collaborating with Don Letts and Gaudi, on Don Letts first ever solo album as a cowriter and vocalist and has just finished a timeless album with Grammy Award winning producer YOUTH MARTIN, and completed collabs with Dub legend MAD PROFESSOR, JUSTIN ROBERTSON, JAMES BRIGHT, and MOUSSE T. Paul Simm (Massive Attack, Amy Winehouse) and Tim Hutton (Dub Pistols) worked on her upcoming album NORADRENALINE. She is part of the songwriting team for Trainspotting The Musical...There is some very exciting material to come from this young lady… watch this space
From Basement Jaxx to Sir Elton, Kano to Brian Ferry, Nathan ‘Tugg’ Curran defines the ‘go-to’ drummer but that’s only one dimension of this restless spirited musician. Beyond the world of an exemplary sticks-man, Curran has over the last couple of years used space to energise his own music, calling on his deep rooted jazz and funk influences, a beyond-nerd knowledge of vintage drum machines and an unguarded sci-fi enthusiasm to shape his own definitive soundscape.

A Cabaret Called Hamlet | 7.30pm
Created and Performed by Richard Lewis
with Rebekah Grace Summerhill and Katie Ayton

‘I bet Elton [John] wishes he could play piano as well as Richard Lewis’

‘...a immaculately rehearsed glimpse of the Fringe’s diverse entertainment’
Jonathan Baz Reviews...
Taking place after performances of Peter Schaufuss and the Edinburgh Festival Ballet’s Hamlet with Ian McKellen, Cabaret Called Hamlet was created by Richard Lewis to give audiences the chance to unwind over a glass or two of wine after the dramatic intensity of the headliner with a light-hearted piece of Shakespearean-themed musical entertainment.

First named The Hamlet Afterparty, this is a cabaret-style show, written and conceived by Edinburgh- based musician/songwriter Richard Lewis, featuring song, dance and monologues which demonstrate the surprising, and often amusing, connections between Shakespeare and a host of musicians from different eras. From Elton John to Beethoven, Jerry Lee Lewis to Rogers and Hart, musically the show has something for everyone, all of it showcasing the dazzling piano and vocal skills of Richard Lewis, ably supported by the brilliantly talented Rebekah Grace Summerhill and Katie Ayton from the Hamlet cast.

Richard Lewis was educated in Edinburgh and went on to read music at Magdalen College, Oxford, before completing a master’s degree at Edinburgh University. As well performing in a variety of roles in classical music and opera internationally, he is also active in musical theatre. He is a visiting lecturer in conducting, opera and musical theatre at the Royal Conservatoire’s musical theatre course and as the creator and composer, enjoyed great success with the Edinburgh Festival Hit Opera Galactica, which received rave reviews and toured extensively.
