Peter Pan and peach pits, fires and football fans, cherry milkshakes... the hangman’s noose.
Memories erased. Identities gone. Two misfit strangers, trapped in a dark cell, wake up to find out they’re going to be executed for unknown crimes they can’t even remember committing... long, unending days stretch before our two oddball friends, Cork and Pip, as they try to come to terms with their imminent demise. Yet, amidst the echoing voices of their mysterious captors and the sound of familiar music drifting in from the “outside”, their memories start to return... whether they like it or not.
High Trees is a tender tale of guilt and compassion, a darkly humorous and sarcastic two-hander that simmers with an ominous bite; a fraught, claustrophobic mixture of fear, hope and rage that confronts us, kicking and screaming, with the terror of being a bad person and, for better or worse, who we become when we have nothing to lose...

“It’s a dark and beautiful mystery, filled with hilarious dialogue when you least expect it and possibly some of the most touching moments we’ll see at this year’s Fringe”

“Powerful, impactful and thought-provoking. This is what the Edinburgh Fringe is all about; young, raw talent”
